On January 31, the Business Forum "Rapid Recovery of Ukraine" was held in Luxembourg, aimed at attracting foreign partners to the process of reconstruction and restoration. The event was organized by the Ukrainian-Luxembourg Business Club.
The Forum was held with the participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal (online), the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, the Vice-Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna (online), the Vice-Prime-Minister of Health of Luxembourg Paulette Lenert, the Minister of Economy of Luxembourg Franz Fayot, the President of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Luxembourg Luc Frieden, the management of Arcelor Mittal, the representatives of the central executive authorities of Ukraine, mayors of Ukrainian cities as well as business communities of Ukraine and Luxembourg.
The head of the city of Billopillia, which is located 10 km from the border with russia, presented to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg a fragment of a russian rocket as evidence of the daily massive shelling by the aggressor of Ukrainian cities and villages, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, maternity wards and infrastructure facilities.
Taking into account the strong support of Luxembourg since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression, the Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Luxembourg Nataliia Anoshyna expressed her extreme gratitude for the support of the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy Xavier Bettel, the Government of Luxembourg, the President of the Chamber of Deputies Fernand Etgen, Chambre des Députés Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, all government bodies, the city authorities and the people of Luxembourg, also mentioning the current security situation in Ukraine, the scale of the destruction, russian war crimes as well as the importance of involvement in the reconstruction in Ukraine. It was also emphasized that Ukraine needs urgent military and economic support.
Another issues that were discussed at the Forum were the attraction of foreign investment for the restoration of destroyed infrastructure, the growth of the Ukrainian economy, the stabilization of the financial sector, as well as the development of science and high technologies.
