The Minister of Energy of Ukraine expressed gratitude to his Belgian colleague for the humanitarian aid provided, namely 36 tons, aimed at carrying out restoration work on energy infrastructure facilities which were damaged by the russians.

Minister G. Galushchenko also informed about the current security and energy issues in Ukraine, the situation with the critical energy infrastructure after the unprecedented russian airstrikes, emphasized the violation of international law and called for strengthening the sanctions policy against the aggressor.

An important element of the meeting was the discussion of ways to strengthen Ukrainian-Belgian cooperation in energy sphere. In particular, the focus was on issues of renewable energy, integration of Ukrainian and European energy markets, as well as cyber protection of energy systems.

Mrs. Van der Straeten assured of solidarity with Ukraine, expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and confirmed the provision of further practical assistance to our country.
