On October 22, 2013, in the city of Mons (the Province of Hainaut, Belgium) on the occasion of the extension of the Partnership Agreement between Poltava oblast and the Province of Hainaut the inauguration of the exposition dedicated to the economic cooperation between Ukraine and Belgium and between Poltava oblast and the Province of Hainaut took place.

Participants were addressed by the speech of the Governor of the Province of Hainaut Mr Tommy Leclercq, who noted ancient traditions and history of Ukrainian-Belgian economic cooperation, which is a good basis for its further development. In the welcoming speech on behalf of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium H.E. Mr Ihor Dolhov, it was underlined the special role of Belgium in forming the specific spheres of Ukrainian industry and it was stressed on the significant potential for the future development of bilateral economic ties. In this context the strengthening of partnership relations between the Belgian Province of Hainaut and Poltava oblast of Ukraine was emphasized.

The event was also attended by the President of the Economic Development Agency of the Province of Hainaut «Hainaut Developpement» Mr Gérald Moortgat, Director of «Hainaut Developpement» Mr Lionel Bonjean, deputies and representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Walloon Agency for Export and Foreign Investments, as well as by representatives of Chambers of Commerce, business and scientific circles of Belgium.
