Today, the screening of “20 days in Mariupol” by Mstyslav Chernov took place in Brussels, for the first time in Belgium.
Picture represents an astonishing feat of documentary filmmaking. With this heart-breaking, incredibly sad yet true documentary, Mstyslav Chernov creates an unrelenting time capsule of the russian invasion of Ukraine. The movie captures the brutal devastation of Mariupol over three weeks and tells the truth about russia's savage attacks on Ukrainian
civilians.
"It is very important that this documentary is seen by as many people as possible around the world, as it highlights the true events of russia's destruction of Mariupol in the first 20 days of the full-scale war. The world community is exposed to russia's crimes and terrorism against Ukrainians. Today, the aggressor continues to wipe out Ukrainian cities and kill our compatriots. Now, as never before, we must unite for the sake of Ukraine's victory," said Chargée d'Affaires of Ukraine Nataliia Anoshyna.
“20 Days in Mariupol” exposes the world community to russia's true scale of crimes and terrorism against Ukrainians. The film has been widely acclaimed in many countries around the world. It won the 2024 BAFTA Film Award as the best documentary, the 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Public Service, as well as Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, and was nominated for an Oscar awards.
