Today Chargée d'affaires of Ukraine Nataliia Anoshyna met with the Mayor of the city of Genk Wim Dries.

The p arties discussed the current security situation in Ukraine, including the recent horrific ballistic missile attacks on the cities of Sumy and Kryvyi Rih.

The Chargée d’affaires raised with the mayor the issue of the importance of continued support for Ukraine and the further provision of necessary practical assistance, including energy, humanitarian, and medical sectors.

The parties also discussed the issue of cooperation between Belgian and Ukrainian cities.

 Special attention was given to the initiatives of the First Lady of Ukraine Mrs. Olena Zelenska.

The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Mayor Wim Dries for his unwavering support of our country, in particular of Ukrainians who moved to Genk due to the russian military aggression. We thank Mr. Dries for his clear position regarding solidarity with Ukraine and assistance to our country.
