The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the
Departement Cultuur, Jeugd & Media have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a new stage in bilateral cooperation in the field of youth policy and support for young people.
The document was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Matviy Bidnyi, and the Secretary-General of the Department of Culture, Youth and Media of the Flemish Government, Mr Bart Temmerman, with the participation of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium, Yaroslav Melnyk.
The Memorandum provides a framework for new opportunities for youth development in Ukraine, including:
• support for youth initiatives and exchanges
• strengthening mobility opportunities for youth workers
• engagement of young people in post-crisis recovery projects
• promoting democracy, solidarity and active youth participation in public life
• regular bilateral consultations – working-level meetings every two years and high-level political meetings every five years
The Embassy of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of Flanders for its consistent support for Ukraine, as well as for Ukrainian children, students and young people both in Belgium and in Ukraine.
Flanders has already launched several important initiatives that contribute to the educational, social and cultural development of Ukrainian youth, and the signing of this Memorandum creates a basis for further strengthening of such cooperation.
Together, we invest in the young generation that will shape Ukraine’s European future.
