Ambassador of Ukraine Yaroslav Melnyk visited the office of the Belgian agency for international cooperation “Enabel” and met with its CEO Mr. Jean Van Wetter.

During the meeting Ambassador Melnyk expressed gratitude to Enabel agency for its outstanding support and activities in Ukraine in key areas of life of our citizens that are constantly under attack from Russia: energy, education, and healthcare, where Enabel implements a wide range of projects — from major renovations of medical and educational institutions to providing energy and heat generation for educational and medical infrastructure.

The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation for the coming year. Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the importance of concentrating maximum efforts on the energy sector, particularly given the ongoing heating season, and also highlighted the need to expand Enabel’s activities to other regions of Ukraine affected by Russian aggression – Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kherson regions, in addition to Kyiv and Chernihiv, where Enabel is currently focused.

Promising projects in the field of psychological and medical rehabilitation for Ukrainian children in Belgium were also discussed.

Ambassador Melnyk stressed the commitment to focused dialogue and continued productive cooperation aimed at strengthening the resilience of Ukrainian communities and reconstruction of affected territories.
