On the 14th of November 2012 in the city council of Liege took place the prominent presentation of the exposition of archive documental materials on the economic cooperation between Ukraine and Belgium in XIX-XX centuries.

Participants were addressed by the speech of mayor of the city of Liege Willy Demeyer, who stressed upon the ancient traditions of Ukrainian-Belgian economic cooperation, which allows looking with optimism in its future. In the welcoming speech on behalf of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium I.Dolhov it was underlined the special role of Belgium in forming the specific spheres of Ukrainian industry and stressed on the significant potential for the future development of bilateral economic ties. In this context the strengthening of partner relations between Belgian province of Liege and Dnipropetrovs’k region of Ukraine was emphasized.

The representatives of federal and regional authorities of Belgium, of diplomatic corps as well as representatives of international organizations, business, cultural and artistic circles participated in this event.

In the framework of the event there was also presented a special publication “Ukraine” of the magazine «The European Times», dedicated to economical, agricultural and tourist potential of Ukraine, and took place the demonstration of a documental film on the history of forming the industry of Donbas with a support of leading Belgian entrepreneurs in the end of XIX – beginning of XX century, which was realized with the participation of Belgian and Ukrainian researchers.
