Three-day visit of the delegation from Mykolayiv region, which arrived to Brussels with the aim to carry out the presentation in its region, ended on October 10, 2012. The delegation of representatives from official and business circles of the region, led by the Adviser of the Governor of Mykolaiv State administration, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Mykolayiv region Mr. I.Katvalyuk.
On October 8, 2012, presentation of economic and investment opportunities of the city of Mykolayiv, as well the region in particular, took place at the Embassy of Ukraine. The participants were welcomed by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgium Mr. I.Dolhov and the President of Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Mrs. O.Bukavyn. Companies from Mykolaiv region in the sphere of shipbuilding, agriculture, and Mykolayiv State Agrarian University were also presented during the event. Over 100 representatives from Belgian business circles, including the port Ghent, CCI of regions, as well as the relevant Ministries and Agencies took part at the event. Mutual interest in establishing cooperation between businessmen of the two countries was expressed after the meeting, as well as Memorandum of Cooperation between the Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Mykolayiv region was signed.
On October 9-10, 2012, representatives from Mykolayiv region had also opportunity to visit the port of Ghent to carry out separate meetings in CCI of Hale-Vilvorde with the agricultural sector of the city of Mehelen. Considerable interest in cooperation and promotion of relation in the agricultural sector was expressed during the meeting of representatives from the State Agricultural University of Mykolayiv in Leuven Catholic University. Other meetings took place at CCI Liege city. The Ukrainian delegation participated at the presentation of the city, which is currently a candidate to host the international exhibition Expo-2017. I.Katvalyuk, in his turn, made a presentation of the Mykolayiv region. There was a meeting and visiting tour to Joskin company, which specializes in construction of agricultural machinery. The company already has partners in Mykolaiv city; in particular it has deep ties with Trans-CAP company. The Sides agreed on developing of further cooperation.
As a result of the visit of Mykolayiv delegation to Belgium, representatives from both countries emphasized their desire to continue existing cooperation and to establish new contacts.
