On 9 October 2010 the Soirée of Ukrainian-Belgian Friendship took place in Mons. In was attended by the representatives of local government, business and cultural elites of Eno province, Ukrainian public and diplomatic body accredited in Belgium.

The honourable consul of Ukraine in Mons V. Kotliar informed the guests about the activities of the Ukrainian-Belgian Association “For Better Life of People” and its humanitarian and art projects in Ukraine. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgium I.Dolhov in his greeting speech expressed the Association his gratitude for its major contribution to the development of the bilateral interregional cooperation in the frameworks of the Agreement on cooperation between Poltava region in Ukraine and Eno Province in Belgium (issued on 19 April 2005).

The official part of the event was followed by the concert performed by People’s Artist of Ukraine L. Izotova, Honoured Artist V. Vizniuk, Ternopil folk group “Zbruch” and others.

The participants of the meeting exchanged their ideas concerning the prospects of future assistance in cultural, humanitarian, educational, commercial and industrial spheres. The Belgian party expressed their views on the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the field of sustainable industrial building and architecture and further academic exchanges.
