The ceremony was organized in honor of the European Day of the national flags commemoration with the participation of the representatives of 20 European embassies accredited in Brussels. The representatives of the participating countries took part in the solemn procession along the city center streets from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (at the foot of the Columns of Congress) to the famous Grand-Place where a solemn meeting was held.

In this way the representatives of Ukraine, France, Germany, the Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Malta, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia and ct. commemorated the victims of fascism and drew attention to the necessity to combat all types of aggression, expressed in particular in the seizure of alien territory, deliberate violation of existing international agreements, human rights and fundamental human values.

The event was held under the auspices of the Royal Fraternal Union of Veterans and supported by the Federation "Wallonie-Bruxelles" and the City Hall of Brussels.
