The Special Olympics European Summer Games, hosted by Belgium, have reached the closure. The Games involved about 2000 disabled athletes from 58 countries, including the team of Special Olympics Ukraine.

Ukrainian disabled athletes have won 10 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals (5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals in gymnastics, 2 silver medals in badminton, 3 gold medals in table tennis, 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in swimming) and took an honorable second place in football competition.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgium Mr. Ihor Dolhov congratulated the Ukrainian winners with high achievements, wishing them the continued success and new victories in the future. During the meeting the athletes and coaches were awarded by souvenirs marking their stay in Belgium.
