With the active support of the Embassy of Ukraine to Belgium and Luxembourg, the Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, the Minister of Economy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Franz Fayot visited Ukraine.
In Kyiv, Minister Fayot held a number of productive meetings with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko, as well as the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Economic Development, Dmytro Natalukha and Dmytro Kyselevskyi.
During the visit, Mr.Fayot emphasized that Luxembourg will continue to support Ukraine and will take an active part in the economic recovery of our country. In particular, Luxembourg intends to finance a new project of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for 1 million euros, which is aimed at preserving and developing agricultural production in Ukraine.
An important element of the meetings was the issue of assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, which is a key component of the growth of Ukrainian economy. The Luxembourg side is currently exploring various support opportunities, in particular in partnership with the
European Investment Bank.
Minister Fayot also announced that Luxembourg intends to help our country in reconstruction in certain sectors of the economy.
In addition to meetings with Ukrainian high-ranking officials, the Luxembourg minister also visited the village of Myla in Kyiv region, where he met with activists of the non-governmental organization
The HALO Trust, which since 2015 has been demining Ukrainian land from russian mines and other explosive objects. Franz Fayot noted that Luxembourg has been actively supporting the efforts of the organization since 2022 and intends to continue doing so in order to give to each Ukrainian the opportunity to come back home.
