The Hero Games which are the sports competitions among Ukrainian veterans who were seriously injured during the defense of Homeland were held in Brussels.
In total, 10 Ukrainian soldiers and 4 NATO employees took part in the competition, each of whom demonstrated not only physical strength and dexterity, but also iron will and strength of spirit!
It is noteworthy that one of the veterans was Mr. Serhiy Romanovskyi, whom the Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Belgium Ms. Nataliia Anoshyna met in 2014, when she was a volunteer in a military hospital in Kyiv, where Serhiy was being treated after being seriously wounded at the front. This meeting in Brussels after so many years was unexpected and extremely pleasant.
The example of our soldiers teaches us all one very important lesson, namely: never give up. You always have to fight and move forward. For your own sake. For the sake of your loved ones. And for the sake of Ukraine!
We express our sincere gratitude to the co-organizers of the event, namely Promote Ukraine, the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, as well as the Council of Volunteers under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
We also thank the Public Diplomacy Department of the NATO Headquarters for inviting our soldiers to visit Brussels.
Separate words of deep gratitude and respect to our defenders who took part in the competition. Thank you!
