Ukraine is ready to extend inter-regional cooperation with Luxembourg.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn said this, meeting the mayor of Luxembourg City Xavier Bettel within the two-day official visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
V. Lytvyn said that Ukraine attaches great importance to the development of relations with Luxembourg, and is ready to support the bilateral dialogue and inter-regional cooperation, especially between the capitals of the countries.
The head of the parliament highly appreciates economic, financial, scientific, and cultural potential of Luxembourg City. He also noted its rich historical heritage.
V. Lytvyn believes that the administration of the Ukrainian capital might be interested in cooperation and exchange of experience with Luxembourg in different spheres of organizing communal services, preserving historical and cultural monuments, etc. Exchange of visits of delegations of the two municipalities, in the opinion of the Head of the Parliament, would facilitate establishment of direct connections in the spheres of mutual interest.
The parties supported the idea of establishing cooperation in education.
V. Lytvyn thanked the municipality of Luxembourg for supporting NGO´s that cooperate with Ukraine in social and cultural spheres.
