The laying of flowers in the frame of commemorative events in Genk, in memory of those innocent Ukrainians who died during Holodomor 1932-33.
In St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church there was a memorial prayer for those who died during the Holodomor. The Ukrainian community and diplomats with their families took part in the prayer service.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium Mykola Tochytskyipresented to the church the exhibition "We were killed because we are Ukrainian" and information materials in the Dutch language about this tragedy of the Ukrainian people.
Diplomats and the Ukrainian community will work together to spread the memory of the Holodomor in Belgium. Our goal is to recognize the #Holodomor as a genocide.
