On October 21, 2018, Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgium Mykola Tochytskyi, Reverend Bishop Borys Gudziak and Honorable Consul of Ukraine in the province of Limburg Kris Beckers laid flowers at the monument to the victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 , commemorating the Ukrainians brutally killed by the Stalinist regime.
The monument was build near the autocephalous Orthodox Cathedral of St. Archangel Michael in Genk in 2003.
