It is with great enthusiasm and pleasure that we present to you the first edition of the International Competition for Young Pianists «Merci, Maestro!» which will be held on 16th and 17th April 2016 in Brussels in the concert hall of Woluwe Saint Lambert Town Hall.
The venue of this Competition was not chosen haphazardly. Brussels, the capital of Belgium, is also the official capital of Europe and is easily accessible to candidates from all over the globe. Thanks to this advantageous geographic location, the laureates and the winners of the Competition will have an important opportunity in the pursuit of their career in Europe and on other continents.
Established on the initiative of the Tchaikovsky Music School in Brussels and with the support of such influential personalities in the world of music as: François Thiry, Olivier Roberti, Hagit Hassid-Kerbel, Ksenia Kogan, Nataliya Chepurenko, Lubov Aroutiounian, Alexandre Eggericx, the Competition aims to become the brand new platform for the identification, support and promotion of talented young pianists; as well as a great way to give them the opportunity to meet each other, to network and to make contacts for life.
The participants will have the opportunity to perform on a Steinway & Sons piano. Rehearsal classes will be available to participants for free.
The registration deadlines are before the 15th February 2016 for non-European Union citizens and before the 15th March 2016 for citizens of the European Union.
Each candidate will receive a letter confirming his/her participation in the Competition. If needed, the participants may use this letter as a support for entrance visa application. However, the Competition organizer will not be responsible for obtaining visas and the costs related to this application.
The organizer will provide all possible information and assistance for accommodation of participants and accompanying persons in hotels with favorable rates or in carefully selected host families.
