On October 17, 2016 while on a working visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to participate in the ministerial meeting of “Ukraine +Group of Friends of Ukraine in the EU” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin met with Chairman of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Defense, Cooperation and Immigration of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Marc Angel.
In the course of the meeting the parties discussed pressing issues of the EU-Ukraine relations agenda, among them being progress made in the visa-free dialogue and implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. The need for the Russian Federation to implement the Minsk accords was pointed out. The two interlocutors specifically addressed the issue of Crimea and steps aimed at ensuring the de-occupation of the peninsular.
Pavlo Klimkin and Marc Angel emphasized mutual desire of both parties to step up bilateral political dialogue, including its parliamentary dimension, as well as trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
