On the 1st of February 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine Ihor Dolhov met with Minister of climate and energy of Belgium Paul Magnette.
During the conversation there was an exchange of thoughts regarding the activity of two countries in frames of Kyoto Protocol. Belgian side was advised about the state of construction of the 3d and the 4th power blocks of Khmelnitsky atomic power plant.
Ambassador of Ukraine I.Dolhov informed Minister about the International conference which will take place in Ukraine (Kyiv) during the 20-22 of April 2011 “25 years of Chernobyl catastrophe. The safety for the future”. Ukrainian side emphasized that the mentioned event is an opportunity for discussing the Chernobyl lessons with a purpose to ensure the safety of the nuclear energy and other potentially hazardous technologies, better protection of population and environment against the consequences of industrial emergencies.
During the meeting Ambassador I.Dolhov passed to Minister two national projects of Ukraine in the energetic sphere and invited Belgian side to participate in them.
