On 28 February 2011 Ambassador of Ukraine I.Dolhov met with Minister-President of the Flemish region K.Peeters.

Highlighting the positive tendency in turnover increasing between Flanders and Ukraine last year, the Parties agreed to continue promoting the projects aimed to strengthen economic relations.

K.Peeters informed about the efforts taken by his government and him personally to strengthen international economic contacts of his region, which is responsible for 87% of all Belgian exports. In this regard, he expressed the interest in visiting Ukraine to promote business projects.

The Sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the context of Ukraine's relations with the EU and NATO, stressing on the possibilities which could be obtained in bilateral trade relations after signing the FTA between the EU and Ukraine.
