On April 23, 2014, Ambassador of Ukraine in Belgium Ihor Dolhov met with the Governor of the Province of Liege Michel Foret. During the meeting the Ambassador informed the Governor about the steps of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at implementing the Geneva agreements, ending violence and de-escalating tensions in Ukraine’s Eastern regions.

The parties exchanged views on the process of preparation of the elections, set in both countries on May 25 this year: in Ukraine – presidential elections, in Belgium - elections to the federal, regional and the European Parliaments.

During the conversation the parties also discussed further development of trade and economic cooperation between the regions of Ukraine and the Province of Liège, as well as prospects for cooperation between the University of LiegeandUkrainian universities.
