On September 20, 2013, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium held a reception on the occasion of the 22d anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, attended by the representatives of the Ukrainian community in Belgium.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Ihor Dolhov congratulated in his ceremonial speech those present on this occasion, noting major achievements of Ukraine during 22 years of Independence, and thanked organizations and active members of the Ukrainian community for their invaluable contribution to the preservation of the Ukrainian national identity and promotion of Ukrainian culture abroad.

The guests highly appreciated the performance of Ukrainian choir "Svitanok" during the event.
