According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in the first half of 2020, exports of Ukrainian goods to Luxembourg increased by 27.7% compared to the first half of 2019 and amounted to 6.4 million USD. Imports of goods from Luxembourg decreased by 77.9% and amounted to 7.3 million USD. The negative balance of bilateral trade in goods in the first half of 2020 amounted to 0.8 million USD.
According to the results of the first half of 2020, the export of Ukrainian services to Luxembourg increased by 55.4% compared to 2019 and amounted to 11.6 million USD. Imports of services from Luxembourg decreased by 40% and amounted to 29.4 million USD. The negative balance of bilateral trade in services in the first half of 2020 amounted to 17.8 million USD.
The total volume of bilateral trade between Ukraine and Luxembourg in the first half of 2020 amounted to 54.7 million USD.
The main export goods are seeds and fruits of oilseeds; inorganic chemical products; tanning extracts; nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery; salt; sulfur; Earth and stones; wood and products made from it; plastics, polymer materials; ferrous metals; cotton wool; mineral fuels; oil and its distillation products. The main imported goods are paper and cardboard; rubber, rubber; ferrous metal products; nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery; plastics, polymer materials; ferrous metals; tools, knife products; other base metal products; optical and photographic devices and apparatuses; tanning extracts; cotton wool; essential oils; electric machines.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of 30.06.2020, Luxembourg investments in the Ukrainian economy amounted to 1,236.1 million USD.
About 100 enterprises with Luxembourg investments are registered in Ukraine. These investments are involved, in particular, in industry, wholesale and retail trade, construction, and transport.
